How to install on the PDAs:

1) Download the Compass2PDAv2.1.5695.zip file onto your laptop/pc.

2) Open the Compass2PDAv2.1.5695.zip file by double clicking on it on your laptop/pc.

3) Extract the Compass2PDAv2.1.5695.CAB file from the Compass2PDAv2.1.5695.zip file to a location of your choice on your laptop/pc.

4) Copy the Compass2PDAv2.1.5695.CAB, from the location you just saved it into on your laptop/pc, onto the PDA using ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Centre.

5) On the PDA, double click on the Compass2PDAv2.1.5695.CAB file to remove the old version of Compass2PDA and install the new version

Please note: When you have performed the latest updates for the PDA, please ensure that the PDA is still cradled when attempting to log in for the first time after the update. This will ensure that all changes are picked up and applied correctly.

Disconnecting PDAs:

Users have reported that they are unable to connect the PDA back to the laptop/PC after it has been synchronised, disconnected and used to collect task data.

The PDA and laptop will nearly always need to be restarted to reconnect the PDA if the PDA is not disconnected from the PC/Laptop properly. NOTE: you should always stop the PDA in Windows “Devices and Printers” before disconnecting it.

To prevent this from happening, follow the steps below:

1) Click Windows start button

2) Click on Devices and Printers

3) Right click on the PDA device icon

4) Select eject

5) You should then get a prompt up telling you it is safe to remove the hardware

6) Disconnect the PDA

7) The PDA should then reconnect the next time it is cradled/connected without needing to be restarted.
